Superior Recruiting Agency is seeking an experienced 1st Shift Maintenance & Repair Mechanic for a manufacturing opportunity in the local Hazleton area.
This position is responsible for supporting daily manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery, equipment, and tools throughout the facility. The Maintenance & Repair Mechanic will respond to equipment issues, complete scheduled maintenance, and help ensure machinery remains safe, reliable, and ready for production.
The ideal candidate will have previous hands-on industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience and be comfortable diagnosing mechanical and equipment-related problems in an active production environment.
This role will work closely with maintenance leadership and production personnel to complete assigned repairs, minimize equipment downtime, and address maintenance needs as they arise. Candidates should be mechanically inclined, safety-focused, dependable, and capable of working independently on assigned maintenance responsibilities.
Perform installation, setup, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repair work on manufacturing equipment and specialized production machinery.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete equipment repairs, replace components, lubricate machinery, and perform other assigned maintenance work.
• Complete welding and cutting work when necessary as part of equipment or facility repairs.
• Assist with general maintenance and repairs involving the facility, building structures, and related plant areas.
• Inspect and test malfunctioning machinery to determine the source of equipment problems and identify the appropriate repair.
• Communicate equipment issues and recommended repairs with maintenance leadership before completing work when approval is required.
• Remove and replace damaged or malfunctioning components, including mechanical parts, wiring, motors, controls, circuit boards, and other equipment components.
• Install replacement equipment, electrical components, and related parts, then test completed work to verify that equipment is functioning correctly and safely.
• Monitor operating machinery through visual inspection and equipment sounds to identify abnormal operation, wear, or potential mechanical problems.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment when necessary to access damaged or worn components and complete repairs.
• Safely use hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment to remove and install machinery components.
• Clean, grease, and lubricate machinery and individual components as necessary to support reliable operation and reduce unnecessary wear.
• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance activities to help minimize equipment downtime and maintain consistent production operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area.
• Perform additional equipment, facility, and general maintenance responsibilities as assigned based on production and operational needs.

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Previous hands-on experience maintaining, servicing, or repairing industrial equipment is required.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions in English, including equipment schematics and other technical information.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established maintenance and equipment procedures.
• Ability to recognize potentially unsafe working conditions, damaged machinery, or defective equipment and immediately communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Experience safely operating machinery and equipment according to established training, procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and other equipment commonly used for industrial maintenance and repair work.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure when completing repairs, installations, and equipment adjustments.
• Working knowledge of proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures with the ability to demonstrate their correct use when servicing or repairing equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Dependable, safety-focused, and capable of completing assigned maintenance responsibilities in an active manufacturing environment.
