Position Description
The Maintenance & Repair Supervisor - Masonry is a full-time civil service position that supervises and performs, as needed, a variety of installation, maintenance, and skilled masonry construction activities of parks facilities and grounds.
Metro's Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of facilities and programs throughout Davidson County. Currently, the department oversees nearly 16,000 acres of open space, including 184 parks and 107 miles of greenway. Metro Parks offers after school programs for children, activities for seniors (55+), cultural arts classes, dog parks, fitness classes, nature programs, sports leagues, ice hockey, art galleries, and much more. It is the mission of Metro Parks and Recreation to sustainably and equitably provide everyone in Davidson County with an inviting network of parks and greenways that offer health, wellness and quality of life through recreation, conservation and community.

Typical Duties
Assigns duties to employees in the Masonry section
Ensures employees perform work in a correct and efficient manner
Evaluates employee performance
Counsels with and corrects employees as needed
Schedules, trains and oversees work for Masonry section to ensure it is completed in a correct, safe and efficient manner for:
Repairs of all blocks, stone, brick, and remodeling of buildings and walls.
Repairs and installation of foundations, retaining walls, sidewalks, and other related concrete structures.
Installs drainpipes and header walls.
Installs fencing.
Welding procedures and repairs to various structures.
Ceramic tile and plaster repairs.
Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications.
Estimates materials, equipment, and manpower needed for jobs.
Requisitions for project material, equipment, and vendor or contractor services.
Prioritizes work orders and assures that work orders are completed in a timely manner.
May operate, tow, or transport equipment or commercial motor vehicles.
Enforces safety rules and regulations.
Assists in general maintenance work.
All other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in construction repair and maintenance work related to Masonry work, including two (2) years of lead or supervisory responsibility over a construction, repair, or maintenance crew responsible for Masonry work.

LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
