Perform troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
Respond promptly to equipment faults, malfunctions, and service interruptions to minimize operational downtime.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues and perform appropriate repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor controls, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, VFDs, and other electrical and mechanical components.
Use manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, testing equipment, and work orders to diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs.
Perform reactive, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance as assigned.
Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failures and communicate needed repairs.
Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment conditions in the CMMS.
Communicate equipment conditions, operational impacts, and maintenance updates to leadership.
Assist with identifying root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to Maintenance Repair Technician I employees as needed.
Follow company and airport safety procedures and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Work collaboratively with other technicians, operations teams, and airport personnel to support daily operations.
Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License.
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, industrial equipment maintenance, or a related field.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, blueprints, or electrical schematics.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain required airport security clearance.
Availability to work day or night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
Preferred Skills:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in airport, industrial, manufacturing, material handling, or other equipment maintenance environments.
Experience working with 480V, three-phase motors and motor controls.
Experience troubleshooting motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, switches, and related components.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment using electrical schematics and technical manuals.
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Basic proficiency with computers and common software applications.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to independently troubleshoot equipment problems.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to climb or balance, work on ladders, and work in confined or restricted spaces.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around aircraft, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Good hand-eye coordination is required.
Work Environment:
Active airport operation with aircraft, vehicular traffic, and heavy equipment.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, outdoor weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, cold, heat, and vibration.
Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
