Job Description
The City of Renton's Public Works Maintenance Services Department is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join the Streets section as Maintenance Services Workers 2. This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the safety, maintenance, and quality of the City's streets and public infrastructure.
Maintenance Services Workers perform a variety of technical and physically demanding tasks in support of the Public Works Maintenance Division. Employees work both independently and as part of a team, applying sound judgment and problem-solving skills while following established guidelines and procedures. In this role, employees play an important part in advancing the City's vision, mission, and goals through dependable service to the community.
This classification is part of a career series, and incumbents may perform duties at the entry and/or intermediate level depending on experience, qualifications, and assignment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
One year construction maintenance experience.
Valid drivers license.
The following certificates are required within six (6) months of employment:
Flagging certificate
First aid and CPR certificates
Forklift card.
Successful passing of a required background check.
Successful passing of a required driving record check.
Positions that require a CDL are safety sensitive positions. Employment is contingent upon successful drug and alcohol screening and subject to random testing.

Recruitment Process:
The screening process will include a review of minimum qualifications and applicants selected for an interview will be invited via email to self-schedule a time through the Government Jobs account. At minimum, this position will be subject to a standard criminal background check and professional reference check. This position requires driving and is also subject to a driving record check from the WA State Dept of Licensing (or other state equivalent). Driving records will be evaluated based on a points system depending on the infraction and severity.
