The Maintenance Technician performs work under the guidance of the working forman and in accordance with OSHA and the standard operating procedures of the Maintenance Level I for Martin Operating Partnership Smackover Refinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs tasks according to all OSHA or Cross Refinery codes, methods and safe practices.
Operate power-driven and manually operated equipment and tools in a safe manner.
Assist in determining process and procedures appropriate for materials and situations.
Maintains and makes minor repairs to operating equipment.
Determines materials and equipment required and oversees their use, security and disposition.
Must be able to work in confined or awkward spaces.
Work extended hours when necessary and be able to be called out for emergency work.
Must obtain a forklift operator certification.
Must obtain man-lift operator certification.
Must obtain 24 hr Hazwoper Certificate.
Performs other related tasks as instructed.
Job Requirements EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A High School Diploma or 2 year associate of applied science degree in an technical field.
Must be able to operate basic hand and power tools used in equipment repair and modification.
Should have two years of industrial mechanical/electrical maintenance or construction experience
