Position Summary

The 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role provides direct supervision of maintenance technicians with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting, controls, automation, and preventive maintenance. The supervisor will drive equipment reliability, support production goals, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians during 1st shift operations.

Prioritize and assign daily maintenance work to ensure timely completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.

Provide advanced electrical troubleshooting and technical support for production equipment, PLCs, motor controls, drives, sensors, and automation systems.

Lead root cause analysis efforts for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and quality departments to minimize downtime.

Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety standards, and company policies.

Review work orders, maintenance records, and downtime reports to ensure accuracy and completion.

Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment and facility improvements.

Manage inventory levels of critical electrical and maintenance spare parts.

Assist with maintenance budgeting, contractor management, and capital improvement projects.

Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with significant electrical troubleshooting responsibilities.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems including:
    • 24VDC through 480VAC systems
    • Motor controls and starters
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics
    • Sensors, relays, and control circuits
    • Electrical schematics and blueprints
