Job Functions
• Supervise a crew in the repair and maintenance of machinery, plumbing, physical structure, and electrical work and fixtures.
• Prepare the lines for optimal production each day
• Coordinate the activities of subordinates
• Coordinates and assigns work to others in the performance of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, carpentry, painting repair, and maintenance.
• Inspects the work of others and initiatives corrective measures to meet established standards
• Determines material and labor estimates.
• Understand and support the production schedule
• Manage and lead team of Maintenance Technicians
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as fillers, conveyor belts, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, material handling equipment and blending/mixing systems.
• Oversee and assist in changeovers, set-ups, and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment
• Performa daily inspections, emergency repairs, routine adjustments, and follow periodic preventative maintenance schedule
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
• Identify innovative solutions to reoccurring problems.
• Procure and keep an adequate stock of all replacement part inventory and machinery manuals.
• Schedule Preventative Maintenance on mechanical systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and Calibration.
• Complete work orders and accurately log corrective maintenance issues.
• Maintain positive vendor relationships and grow new vendor network.
• Oversee and assist in the protection of product from contamination while completing assignments
• Approve weekly timekeeping for all direct reports
• Broad Machinery Maintenance Understanding; electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing HVAC, Combustion, inverter drives, electrical motors, and PLC
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals, electrical schematics, and construction drawings.
• Coordination; adjusting actions in relation to other’s actions.
• Analyse downtime reports to mitigate potential equipment breakdowns.
• Ensure the maintenance shop, toolboxes, and equipment are clean, orderly, and audit ready.
• Participate in SQF audits conducted weekly and quarterly. Validate that all violations are corrected timely.
Qualification
Education and Experience
Years of Experience
5 years in a Supervisory role in Food Industry Maintenance Mechanic. Electrician Commercial Certificate, Programming Basics Certificate, Internal Mechanical and Electrical skills.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (University or Technical School) Related field of study: Industrial Mechanics

• Knowledge of building and equipment maintenance/repair techniques.
• Skill in applying building and equipment maintenance and repair techniques.
• Skill in both verbal and written communication.
• Skill in leading and or coordinating the work activities of self and others.
