Advanced-level supervisory and administrative work by coordinating various utility maintenance and repair crews in the field. Plan, direct, and manage utility operations within the Backflow Maintenance Program section. You will conduct employee performance evaluations while ensuring timecards are accurately maintained. Regularly monitor fieldwork, create and maintain schedules, update compliance records, and manage equipment purchases while adhering to budget constraints. Additionally, ensure GIS data is current and provide supervision and training on backflow repairs and testing, along with any other assigned tasks or responsibilities.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

What Will You Do?
- Supervises, trains, assigns, and evaluates the work of employees assigned to the work group
- Manages the preventative maintenance program of the Utilities department.
- Develop a life cycle plan and cost-effectiveness of repair versus replacement.
- Examines meter installations
- Reverse flow monitoring management in Beacon
- Cross Connection Inspections
- Hydrant Flow Testing
- Fill out regulatory paperwork
- Participate and schedule meetings online and in person
- System pressure studies
- Installation drawings for meters and backflows
- Answers consumer inquiries
- Ensures that adequate amounts and types of equipment and materials are available for project completion and constantly monitors and checks safety practices and procedures
- Requisitions and maintains replacement part stock for completion of repairs.
- Reviews and performs contract management on contracts about maintenance and equipment
- Coordinates with other agencies, departments, customers, and division units or sections to ensure proper support activities or joint projects are accomplished.
- QA/QC of the work orders and inspections completed within this group.
- Locating meters as needed
- Completes work-related reports and/or maintains operation and maintenance logs

What Will You Need?
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience in public works or utilities construction, maintenance, or major repair
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules, including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to permit walking all day under varying weather conditions.
- Other knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials required for a specific position.
- Reclaimed water field site inspector certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Backflow testing and repair certification, or the ability to obtain it within 1 year of hire.
- High school diploma or GED.
Highly Desirable
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Level 3 Water Distribution System Operator License or higher and a Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Backflow Prevention Assembly Testing Certification or the ability to obtain the license and certification within one year.
- FDOT Temporary Traffic Control (MOT) Certification
