Maintenance Supervisor
Role Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily repair and preventative maintenance of all equipment within a beef processing facility. This role focuses on minimizing downtime in ahigh-volume environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians and mechanics to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
  • Operational Support: Oversee maintenance for specialized beef processing equipment, including stunning systems, hide pullers, carcass splitters, conveyors, and vacuum packaging machinery.
  • Process Improvement: Lead technical adjustments and equipment upgrades to support the plant's growth from 500 to 700 cattle per day.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM): Implement and manage a robust PM program to reduce emergency breakdowns during critical production shifts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with USDA, OSHA, and HACCP regulations, maintaining a "food safe" environment at all times.
  • Facility Management: Oversee boiler operations, refrigeration systems (Ammonia/CO2), and wastewater treatment oversight as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Industry Experience:Must have direct experience in a beef slaughter or fabrication facility. Candidates without meat processing experience will not be considered.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls).
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead a crew in a fast-paced, cold/wet environment.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to react quickly to equipment failures on the line to prevent "lost wood" or production delays.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to varying temperatures (hot/humid on the kill floor, cold in fabrication/coolers).
  • Fast-paced production environment with a focus on throughput and animal welfare standards.
