Maintenance Supervisor
Dunbridge, OH
Principle Business Enterprises (PBE) is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and ensure our facility, equipment, and systems are operating safely and efficiently. This role is a critical part of our manufacturing operation and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on our people, our processes, and our performance.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, support, and develop the maintenance team including leads and technicians across all shifts
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Identify training and development needs and partner with HR to build team capability
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and open communication within the department
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance team workload to ensure timely completion of assignments
Preventive Maintenance & Work Order Management
- Own and continuously improve the preventive maintenance program to minimize unplanned downtime
- Manage the work order system including intake, prioritization, assignment, and closeout
- Identify equipment and systems with the most urgent PM needs and develop a systematic approach to address them
- Track and report on maintenance KPIs including uptime, PM completion rates, and response times
Facilities & Building Maintenance
- Oversee the upkeep and repair of building systems, grounds, and infrastructure
- Partner with production and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activity with minimal operational disruption
- Ensure seasonal and condition-based needs are addressed proactively, including lighting, drainage, and weather-related hazards
Parts & Inventory Management
- Manage the parts room including inventory levels, organization, and accurate tracking of usage by line or department
- Ensure spare parts are stocked appropriately and rebuilt or replaced in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate fair pricing and explore consignment or off-site inventory arrangements to reduce overhead
- Institute efficient parts management practices including exchange programs and usage-based reorder triggers
Safety & Compliance
- Serve as a safety resource for the maintenance department and collaborate cross-functionally to promote a safe working environment
- Identify and proactively address conditions that could lead to injury or property damage
- Coordinate and document safety training for new employees and internal transfers
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations
- Partner with HR and leadership on incident investigation and corrective action follow-through
What We're Looking For
- Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 5 or more years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS or work order systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold a team accountable
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Clear communicator who can work effectively across production, engineering, and leadership teams
