Maintenance Supervisor
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the work operations of the Facilities Maintenance Shop in the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) Facilities Management Service at the Jackson VAMC.
- Responsible for Employee training, development, implementation of preventive maintenance programs,
- Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, NFPA Codes, NEC Codes etc.
- Determines when operational equipment is obsolete and/or uneconomical to repair and initiates appropriate document to management to have equipment removed from service.
- Establish work priorities and deadlines for maintenance or projects based on general work schedules, methods, policies and the established goals of the service line and Medical Center.
- Initiates electronic work orders for deficiencies found in the performance of duties.
- Monitors progress and ensures subordinates have closed out assigned work orders.
- Completes work orders in the time frames prescribed by Engineering Service policy.
- Coordinates projects, equipment repair and service with other shop supervisors.
