Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate repairs, equipment installations, and plant maintenance.
- Maintain safe, reliable equipment operation while reducing downtime and improving asset and labor utilization.
- Schedule corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance; define staffing and job requirements.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget with the Operations Manager.
- Partner with engineering on capital projects and installation of new automated production equipment.
- Maintain maintenance work orders and purchase orders; source parts, equipment, materials, and outside services.
- Lead downtime reviews, reliability improvements, cost-reduction projects, and selected continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create SOPs and standard work instructions; conduct process analysis and process mapping.
- Coordinate sanitation activities and maintain housekeeping of the building and grounds.
- Manage maintenance staff training, technical and safety competencies, attendance, and overtime.
- Collaborate with operations, production, and quality teams, including participation in daily production meetings.
- Support regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and food safety programs, including SQF, HACCP, GMP, QA/QC, sanitation, and hygiene.
- Evaluate prerequisite programs supporting HACCP; conduct audits, document evidence, and prepare reports.
Needed:
- High school diploma required; technical college certificate or diploma strongly preferred.
- Minimum five years of progressive industrial maintenance experience.
- Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills, including troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and food safety procedures.
- Ability to identify and correct equipment or process issues that could interrupt production or affect product quality.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize work, communicate across departments, and lead direct reports.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and bending and occasionally lift 35 pounds.
- Local residence or a manageable commute to Lenoir City; no relocation assistance.
Preferred:
- Previous maintenance leadership experience.
- Food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods experience; coffee roasting experience is especially valuable.
- Packaging machinery, automated production equipment, and pneumatic systems experience.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
