Maintenance Supervisor

An established steel manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance crew and help drive the safety, reliability, and performance of a 24/7 steel production operation.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced industrial maintenance leader who understands both the people and technical sides of maintenance. You'll oversee Millwrights and Electricians, coordinate daily maintenance activities, drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and help troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and process equipment.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of an assigned Millwright and Electrical maintenance crew, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures.
- Plan, prioritize, and follow through on preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment troubleshooting, and reliability initiatives.
- Train, coach, and develop maintenance employees while reinforcing safe work practices, Lockout/Tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other critical safety procedures.
- Coordinate staffing and schedules for direct reports while maintaining accurate employee timekeeping and approving time records.
- Work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, motor control, PLC, and automation systems.
- Manage maintenance work orders, parts, materials, and documentation through the Bentley Ivara APM CMMS, while monitoring completed work and maintenance performance.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of a 4-year Electrical or Millwright apprenticeship, or approximately 8 years of hands-on electrical or mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial facility.
- 4+ years of Maintenance Supervisor experience, preferably within steel, metals, manufacturing, mining, or another heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, coach, and direct skilled maintenance personnel while maintaining high standards for safety and performance.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge sufficient to supervise troubleshooting and repairs involving industrial machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, motors, high-voltage equipment, and PLCs.
- Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and equipment blueprints/schematics.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced 24/7 production environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with process automation, instrumentation, motor controls, combustion systems, PLCs, and high-voltage industrial systems.
- Experience using CMMS platforms, particularly Bentley Ivara APM, to establish KPIs, work orders, maintenance procedures, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with Oracle or other enterprise maintenance/ERP systems.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, ultrasound, and laser alignment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, fall protection, harness/SRL systems, and safe work permitting.
