Job Description

Maintenance Supervisor

You will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on a diverse fleet of heavy equipment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising, motivating, and developing a team of 8 to 12 people
  • Overseeing and continuously improving the preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability and minimize breakdowns
  • Planning and scheduling work orders for both in house mechanics and outside contractors
  • Diagnosing and directing repairs on heavy and mobile equipment
  • Monitoring technician skill sets and developing targeted training plans to strengthen the team
  • Managing work order completion and labor productivity using a CMMS platform
  • Coordinating with warehouse personnel to ensure parts and materials inventory is accurate and available
  • Maintaining strong labor relations, morale, and discipline within the shop
  • Ensuring full compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
  • Implementing maintenance plans for scheduled repairs, upgrades, and major projects

What You Bring

  • 5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial or construction maintenance environment
  • 5 years of heavy equipment experience — Liebherr, Sennebogen, or similar machinery strongly preferred
  • Welding background is a plus — fabrication and repair experience is valued
  • Mobile equipment technician experience highly desirable
  • Proficiency with CMMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Experience with employee time management systems
  • Proven ability to lead a union workforce with professionalism and accountability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage work orders, scheduling, and preventative maintenance programs
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Technical Institute training or certificate of completion is an asset

What to Expect

This is a first shift position running 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM most days. A manager on duty rotation of approximately one weekend every two months. You will be stepping into a fully union environment where strong people skills and technical credibility matter equally. If you are a technically sharp leader who thrives in a demanding industrial setting, this is a role worth exploring.
