Position Overview

The primary purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to assist in supervising the daily operations of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Maintenance Supervisor will also follow established facility policies and procedures, and as directed by the Director of Maintenance, to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, efficient, and comfortable manner at all times.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Holds the adaptability to work in other departments roles when necessary. 
  • Lift heavy equipment, supplies, furniture etc., as directed or requested.
  • Supervise the day-to-day maintenance functions and assign daily work duties to maintenance personnel.
  • Assist the Director of Maintenance with scheduling, training, and departmental procedures.
  • Follow all established safety, fire prevention, OSHA, CDC, infection control, and universal precaution standards.
  • Coordinate maintenance services with nursing services and other departments as necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance supplies, tools, equipment, and protective equipment are properly maintained, stored, and available for use.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions are maintained.
  • Assist with maintaining required records, reports, schedules, and documentation.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and emergency preparedness activities as directed.
  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Shared on-call responsibilities


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance department in a health-related facility.
  • Has experience with electric, painting, plumbing, tiling, and groundskeeping.
