We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our client’s team in Spartanburg, SC. This is a hands-on, working supervisor position responsible for leading and actively participating in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility systems.The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that plant equipment and machinery are properly installed, maintained, and operating at optimum performance while meeting safety, quality, and production requirements.This is a direct hire role and is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys working with equipment, solving problems, and leading a team.Responsibilities
Lead and participate in the maintenance and repair of production equipment and facility systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations to minimize production downtime.
Assist with the installation, modification, and improvement of production equipment.
Plan and oversee preventive maintenance activities and programs.
Direct, prioritize, and coordinate the daily work of Maintenance Technicians.
Maintain accurate spare parts inventory and ensure critical parts are available when needed.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Train employees on the safe and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Coordinate with outside contractors and other departments as needed.
Maintain a professional and safety-focused work environment.
Perform maintenance work outside normal operating hours when necessary to address emergency situations and minimize production interruptions.
Equipment & Technical ExperienceCandidates should have hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and systems, including:
Extruders
Grinders
Mixers
Chillers
Compressors
Refrigeration systems
Air conditioning systems
Electrical and mechanical equipment
PLC-controlled equipment
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a similar maintenance position
Electrical and mechanical certification, attestation, or equivalent training
Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of PLC programming languages and computerized systems
Ability to read and interpret complex equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams
Experience using computer-aided drafting software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks to view blueprints and schematics
Strong observation, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize work and respond quickly to equipment issues
Ability to train and develop maintenance personnel
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional attitude with employees, management, and outside contractors
