Maintenance Supervisor - Steel Mill/Rod Mill
Location: Peoria, IL (on-site - Steel Mill/Rod Mill)
Type: Full-time | Supervisory
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 + Overtime Opportunities
Schedule: Flexible shifts | Must be available for off-hours, weekends, and on-call duties as needed

What You'll Do:
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping our mill running at peak performance. You'll lead a team of skilled tradespeople and be responsible for short-term maintenance solutions and overall equipment reliability across the plant. Your core responsibilities will include:
Supervise craft personnel on your assigned shift
Coordinate and direct resources to complete timely equipment repairs
Conduct inspections and ensure proper functioning of mill equipment
Promote continuous productivity, safety, quality, and cleanliness
Document shift activities and ensure smooth turnover to the next shift
Secure materials, equipment, and resources as needed
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Technology (Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
2-5 years of experience in a Steel Mill or other heavy industrial environment
Proven supervisory experience in a unionized environment Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and schematics
Willingness to work any shift and overtime as required
Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, procedures, and safety rules
Must pass physical, drug screening, and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Military maintenance experience (Navy Nuclear Power Program or similar)
Passion for learning and continuous improvement
Motivation to tackle challenges head-on
Expertise:
• Strong knowledge of heavy industrial mechanical & electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office & maintenance software systems
Mindset:
• Assertive, goal-oriented, and safety-conscious
• Capable of multitasking and maintaining a sense of urgency
• Strong organizational and communication skills
