    Maintenance Supervisor

    Location: Wentzville, MO

    Work Arrangement: Onsite

Schedule: Rotating shifts; flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift required

Assignment Type: Contract with strong potential for extension and possible direct hire

    Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support a high-volume manufacturing and stamping operation in Wentzville, MO. This position will oversee a team of approximately 10–15 skilled trades employees while supporting daily production, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

The facility operates large-scale stamping equipment used to form, trim, and pierce sheet metal components. The environment includes heavy industrial equipment, automated press systems, robotics, and dies weighing more than 100,000 pounds.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, mechanically inclined leader who enjoys solving equipment problems, identifying root causes, and working closely with skilled trades and production personnel.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to approximately 10–15 skilled trades employees within a manufacturing environment.
    • Support daily production requirements by coordinating maintenance, tool and die, and equipment troubleshooting activities.
    • Provide leadership and technical support for large industrial press systems and associated equipment.
    • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, automation, and press-related equipment issues.
    • Perform or support root cause analysis and develop corrective-action plans for equipment and production problems.
    • Support tool and die operations and general industrial maintenance activities based on experience and operational needs.
    • Work with automated material-handling systems, including robotic loading and unloading equipment.
    • Support equipment utilizing FANUC robots, suction cups, vacuum generators, roller-bearing systems, cable trays, and related automation.
    • Coordinate closely with production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and other operational teams.
    • Provide coverage across different areas of the operation as business needs require.
    • Ensure established maintenance and manufacturing processes are followed and be willing to challenge unsafe or improper practices.
    • Help develop team capabilities while learning additional press, maintenance, and manufacturing processes.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 4+ years of relevant manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, or technical experience; approximately 8 years of related experience is preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on understanding of industrial equipment.
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop practical corrective-action plans.
    • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing or maintenance environment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with skilled trades employees, production personnel, engineering teams, and leadership.
    • Ability and willingness to work onsite and rotate between shifts based on operational needs.
    • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
    • Previous maintenance supervision experience.
    • Metalworking, stamping, machining, tool and die, or similar manufacturing experience.
    • Experience with large industrial presses or automated manufacturing equipment.
    • Experience with FANUC robotics or other industrial robotic systems.
    • Familiarity with robotic vision systems.
    • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
    • Experience with Maximo or a similar maintenance management platform.
    • Familiarity with Kronos or comparable workforce/timekeeping systems.

    Schedule & Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position supporting a three-shift manufacturing operation. Candidates must be flexible to work any of the following shifts:

    • 1st Shift: 5:45 AM–3:00 PM
    • 2nd Shift: 1:45 PM–11:00 PM
    • 3rd Shift: 9:45 PM–7:00 AM

The normal workweek is Monday through Friday; however, this should not be considered a standard 40-hour-per-week position. Overtime is expected based on production requirements and may average up to approximately 15 additional hours in some weeks. Candidates should anticipate working approximately two weekends per month, with additional weekend coverage possible depending on business needs.

The work is performed in an active stamping and manufacturing environment that can be noisy and oily and includes large industrial machinery, automated equipment, and extremely heavy tooling.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

Successful candidates will be mechanically curious, comfortable around heavy industrial equipment, and confident leading experienced skilled trades employees. Individuals with a strong hands-on mechanical background—including those who enjoy automotive, machinery, equipment repair, or similar technical work—may be particularly well suited for the environment.

This position requires someone who can assess a problem, determine the root cause, develop a plan to correct it, and confidently provide direction to the team.
