Position Summary:
Key responsibilities are to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment within a food processing and packaging facility in strict compliance with GMP, HAACP, and USDA regulations. Equipment includes robots, automated packaging machinery, and servo systems and controls. This role coordinates predictive and preventative maintenance activities in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies. The scope of work includes electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, control systems and building maintenance. In a lead role, responsibilities will extend to providing support, supervision, and training of maintenance technicians to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production operations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment and industrial control systems including wiring, sensors, servomotors, and drives.
Perform repairs and predictive and preventative maintenance on production and facilities equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Maintain proper documentation of work orders within Redzone or other CMMS.
Respond quickly to production breakdowns and coordinate resources to minimize downtime.
Identify and follow through with continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.
Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities and larger projects including work assignment and verification of proper maintenance techniques and quality of work.
Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement reliability measures.
Work closely with maintenance manager to schedule and assign maintenance tasks and coordinate contractors as required.
Provide necessary department leadership and communication in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.
