About the role:
MACHINE MAINTENANCE
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance and inspection checks on equipment, machine tools and building equipment.
- Prepares work for maintenance activities, including gathering equipment, materials and supplies, loading and unloading materials, and laying out materials and equipment for projects.
- Performs clean up after the work is completed, including picking up tools, spills, and debris and cleaning the work area.
- Maintains communication with maintenance team members to support and keep abreast of current and future duties, understanding the continuing needs of the department.
- May perform a variety of general duties such as delivery/pick by operating a vehicle, stocking parts, answering phone and any other related support activity, as needed.
- May have to fabricate or weld, to a limited degree.
- May use a forklift to move and transport material, machines, equipment, etc
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance and inspection checks on building equipment including but not limited to fire extinguishers, cranes, alarms, exit lights, sprinkler system, dust collector, heating and A/C unit belts and filters, etc.
- Ensure that the facility grounds and parking lots are clean of debris and garbage. Also ensure that the facility is in a safe condition by inspection of the grounds.
QUALITY & PROCESS
- Perform internal processes to include quality, equipment, and output inspection checks.
- Follow company policies and manufacturing processes to include safety regulations, quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements.
- Reviews work order priorities on a daily basis and ensure that each duty is completed satisfactorily.
- Maintains the periodic log of general preventative maintenance activities.
- Understand SPC, control plans, quality specifications, work instructions, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide feedback on continuous improvement ideas to improve products, processes, standards, etc.
PRODUCTIVITY & JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Completes assigned work within the expected time frame.
- Demonstrates comprehension of techniques, skills, processes, equipment, procedures, and materials to perform the job.
- Works to improve the overall level of competence and able to propose solutions to existing challenges.
- Keeps Supervisor informed, on a timely basis, of activities and actions that could affect decisions including planning, performance, employee or safety etc.
SAFETY
- Performs work safely, follows established policies, and looks for areas of improvement.
- Comply with PPE requirements as per our safety procedures
- May handle, transport, and store some hazardous materials.
- Attends required safety training.
ATTENDANCE & DEPENDABILITY
- Reports on time as per the work schedule.
- Provide proper notification when absent
- Available and on time when committed to overtime
- The pay range for this role is $25 to $30 an hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance experience is also preferred. Ability to use all types of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices is required. Ability to learn how to troubleshoot electrical control and wiring problems. Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions, manuals, and mechanical documents.
Technology/Equipment: Must possess computer experience.
- Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours.
- Must be able to withstand repetitive movements.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs regularly, unassisted.
- Able to communicate at all levels.
- Must be able to tolerate some wood and fiberglass dust.
