Job Responsibilities
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on conveyors, sortation systems, automated storage and retrieval systems, and other material handling equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair automated conveyance and sortation equipment.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
- Plan, schedule, and complete maintenance tasks using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and complete work orders while tracking maintenance activities and spare parts inventory.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues involving conveyor motors, belts, rollers, stretch wrappers, dock doors, photo-eye sensors, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and motor control circuits.
- Diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
- Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Work closely with operations and fellow maintenance team members to maximize equipment performance.
- Perform routine safety inspections throughout maintenance and production areas.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment environment.
- Experience maintaining Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and following OEM safety standards.
- Minimum of 2 years troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480V.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Previous experience operating powered industrial trucks or working from scissor lifts is preferred.
- Technical certification or an associate degree in a mechanical or electrical field is preferred.
- Excellent attendance and flexibility to support operational needs.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for 8–12 hour shifts.
- Frequently bend, reach, stretch, push, pull, and lift throughout the workday.
- Climb ladders and work in elevated or confined spaces.
- Lift up to 50 pounds safely.
