    Description

    Maintenance Technician

    Glenview, IL

    PAY RATE COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE- $33 PH

    One (1) FT Position Available:

    Key Responsibilities

    Mechanical Repairs

    • Conveyor Systems: Adjusting tension and tracking, replacing worn bearings, belts, drive chains,  and gearboxes.
    • Processing Equipment: Fixing slicers, mixers, ovens, and fillers by replacing seals, gaskets, valves, and moving components.
    • Pneumatics & Hydraulics: Repairing or replacing leaking air lines, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and solenoid valves. 

    Electrical & Utility Work

    • Lighting & Facility Power: Servicing plant lighting, facility wiring, and electrical
    • Utility Services: Maintaining boilers, air compressors, chilled water systems, and HVAC units

    Regulatory Compliance & Sanitation

    • Food Safety Standards: Ensuring all repairs follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and sanitary design standards.
    • Safe Lubrication: Utilizing only food-grade lubricants (NSF H1) on machinery to prevent contamination. 
    • Washdown Protocols: Securing and sealing electrical enclosures and components to withstand high-pressure, chemical washdowns.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Preventive Maintenance( PM): Performing routine inspections, calibrations, and part replacements to prevent unexpected breakdowns. 

    Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigating recurring machinery failures and implementing permanent engineering solutions to prevent recurrence. 

    ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY ARE MANDATORY. 

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • HVAC, EPA Universal Certification REQUIRED
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Previous experience in residential maintenance or a related field is preferred
    • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repair techniques
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
