Job Description:

Our Opportunity:  

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician II at our Fulfillment Center in Dayton, Ohio! As a Maintenance Technician II, you will apply basic mechanical, electrical, and carpentry skills in support of a fulfillment center. Key Responsibilities:

  • You will perform equipment maintenance and repair, housekeeping and plumbing, metal fabrication and carpentry to support our fast-paced fulfillment center operations.
  • Ensure that all fulfillment center equipment is functioning accurately and ensure a safe working environment for all your fulfillment Team Members.
  • Complete periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout the facility - as assigned and according to schedule.
  • Perform daily inspections of conveyor systems, shipping, and packing equipment areas.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned equipment and associated gear list, reducing loss, damage, and defects to zero.
  • Use CMMS to record labor, corrective actions, and parts inventory use.
  • Fix mechanical and electrical problems; you will visually check, test, and evaluate the condition of components, equipment, and circuits.
  • Assisting with battery extractor duties including PIT battery removal/replacement, battery maintenance and PIT recovery.
  • Follow company procedures.

Qualifications:

  • At least 12 - 24 months of previous mechanical, maintenance, or experience within military roles (i.e.: Mechanics and Maintainers, Construction and Engineering, Aviation and Transportation Repair)
  • Proficiency using appropriate tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Curiosity about math, electricity, shop mechanics, electric motors, and appliances.
  • Has experience in the use of a CMMS to detail workforce efforts, remedial measures, and parts inventory usage.
  • Basic understanding of VFD operation.
  • Knowledge of motor starters and control cabinets.
  • Familiarity with the operation of PLC I/O controls systems.
  • Understand potential contact with high voltage electricity, welding tools, as well as vehicle and equipment lubricants and solvents.
  • Trouble & problem solving and mechanical proficiency skills.
  • Understands the theory of operation and component identification.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years mechanical/electrical maintenance experience or vocational school, college, or military experience with mechanical or electrical maintenance job duties.
  • Ability to read, understand & interpret electrical, pneumatic, & plumbing schematics.
  • HVAC - knowledge or experience.
  • Knowledge of general appliance repairs & fixing.
  • Experience with conveyor mechanical systems (belts, drives, tracking).
  • Proficient at reading, grasping, and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing schematics.

Physical Demands:

  • Infrequent lifting to 75 pounds.
  • Bending, crawling, stooping, standing for long periods of time.
  • Walking within and around the site with great frequency (up and down several flights of stairs).
  • Ability to climb ladders safely and without limitation and work off platforms and equipment at significant heights.
  • Full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists, eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and/or uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Ability to perform work on-the-ground, and at various heights <50 feet.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and/or floating schedule.
