Educations & Qualifications: Certificate of Competence and/or Degree in one or more of the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pneumatics, Carpentry, Mechanics, or related field preferred. A minimum of 2 years of facility, industrial, or amusement park maintenance experience is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Mechanical knowledge and experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and conducting routine maintenance on pumps, motors, plumbing, and electrical is preferred. Water quality, chemistry, and filtration experience is preferred. Ability to work a variable schedule including nights and weekends is required. Must be able to operate lawn equipment and construction equipment (i.e. dump trucks, skid steers, man lifts, fork truck, and power tools). Basic computer skills and ability to use/learn Microsoft Office software preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid PA driver’s license is required. CPO/AFO certification, PA Pesticide Applicator certification w/Category 24, and PA Ride Inspector Class II certification are required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
Summary: This full-time, year-round position is responsible for assisting the Waterpark Facilities Manager with the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and pools. Will ensure proper water quality/chemistry and Waterpark cleanliness; teach, train, supervise, and direct seasonal waterpark maintenance staff. Assist with ensuring Waterpark is in compliance with all applicable state, federal, safety, and OSHA requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the oversight of all daily operations relating to waterpark maintenance including pools, slides, attractions, buildings, and grounds.
- Ensure waterpark is in compliance with all applicable state, federal, safety, and OSHA requirements.
- Ensure cleanliness and beautification of all buildings and grounds throughout the waterpark facilities.
- Ensure daily work orders assigned by the Waterpark Facilities Manager are completed.
- Teach, train, supervise, and direct seasonal waterpark maintenance staff. Promote staff accountability.
- Ensure Company and Department policies and procedures are followed.
- Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation including but not limited to water quality reports, chemical testing records, safety data sheets, chemical container permits, and daily pump room checklists.
- Complete chemical tests at designated times, making adjustments as needed.
- Ensure proper water clarity and chemistry as dictated by the PA Bathing Code Provisions.
- Responsible for the proper inventory and safe storage of pool chemicals.
- Backwash and clean filters to maintain proper flow rates and filtration.
- Monitor pumps, filters and related flow rates; make adjustments as needed.
- As directed, complete required state inspections on pools, slides and attractions.
- Safely operate company vehicles, golf carts, lawn equipment, power tools and construction equipment.
- Work in various weather and environmental conditions including but not limited to direct or indirect sunlight, heat, humidity, rain, hail, cold.
