Maintenance Technician
Job Type: W2 Contract
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Location: Morrisville, NC 27560
Working Setting: Fully Onsite
Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Overtime may be required)
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $34.25/hour

Position Overview

Seeking a Maintenance Technician to support electrification laboratory operations and facility infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing test equipment and building systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of laboratory and facility environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lab Equipment & Testing Support

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on laboratory equipment, test systems, and fixtures.
  • Support setup, modification, and operation of test benches, dynamometers, and electrification systems.
  • Build, modify, and maintain test harnesses, electrical loads, and test fixtures.
  • Diagnose equipment issues using tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical assemblies.

Calibration & Validation

  • Perform thermal chamber calibration and verification activities.
  • Maintain calibration documentation and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Support additional validation and maintenance activities as needed.

Facility Maintenance

  • Perform general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and repairs.
  • Execute preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
  • Support grounds maintenance, snow removal, and minor construction projects.
  • Troubleshoot facility-related issues impacting laboratory operations.

Preventative Maintenance & Documentation

  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, and work orders.
  • Help ensure equipment reliability and maximize uptime.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow laboratory, electrical, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Support facility safety and security programs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with engineering teams, facilities personnel, and leadership.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, facilities, or technical support experience.
  • Experience working with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge of facility systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking activities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with laboratory or test equipment.
  • Experience supporting electrification systems, including motors, inverters, and battery systems.
  • Experience with calibration equipment such as thermal chambers and power analyzers.
  • Background in mechatronics, automation, or robotics.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance management systems.

Work Environment

  • Combination of laboratory, shop, and facility environments.
  • Physical activities including standing, walking, bending, and lifting are required.
  • Occasional off-shift, overtime, or on-call support may be needed.

Additional Information

  • Metatarsal safety boots are required on the first day.
