The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is seeking a Maintenance Tech to join our Natural Resources team located in West Chicago, IL. This role is a great opportunity to join a skilled, supportive team dedicated to high-quality work and the larger mission of the forest preserve. This field position assists with the maintenance of the district''s natural areas, ecology, volunteer programs, and native plant nursery to improve the quality of life for all DuPage County residents.
Compensation
$26.65 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

About the Role
We are looking for a team-player with 1-3 years of natural resource management experience, including pickup truck and trailer operation. Current Illinois Class A Commercial Driver''s License (CDL) preferred. This field position requires experience with methods and equipment used to suppress exotic and invasive species while promoting biodiversity. The role participates in prescribed fire crews and pest control programs, utilizing various techniques including herbicide applications and equipment such as tractors equipped with forestry mulcher, skid steer/rubber tracked loaders and chainsaws.
Schedule
Schedule is Monday - Friday 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.
