Maintenance Tech

•  position is at a Skilled Nursing and Rehab 

Job Summary: To provide a safe, clean and well maintained environment for every resident, visitor, volunteer and staff member to ensure the highest standard of quality care, and assure the safety of residents.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance as indicated on work orders.
• Hang pictures, mirrors and other items.
• Install grab bars, towel bars and other safety equipment.
• Coordinate scheduled events in order to move, set up, or take down table and chairs.
• Pressure wash areas such as patios, porches, court yards, sidewalks and outer building as needed.
• Remove and repair window screens.
• Lubricate potty chairs, wheel chairs, shower chairs and med carts.
• Repair and maintain walls, wallpaper and paint.
• Attend and participate in scheduled in-services and staff meetings.
• Maintain the confidentiality of residents.
• Coordinate work orders with other departments.
• Respect resident’s privacy and dignity while performing tasks.
• Assure resident safety at all times.

Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements:

• Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: https://info.flclearinghouse.com)

• High school graduate or GED equivalent,
• Experience in building/facility maintenance, painting and some Vo-tech experience would be beneficial.
• Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift, stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and smell. Vision abilities may require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• For the safety and security of our residents and patients, employees must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, which is the most universally used language of our resident and employee population.
