The Maintenance Technician supports the Building Engineering team in the maintenance and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and common areas. This role assists with routine maintenance tasks, responds to basic service requests, and helps ensure safe and efficient facility operations under the direction of Building Engineers. 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Assist Building Engineers with preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment. 
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on lighting, plumbing fixtures, and general building components. 
• Complete routine work orders and service requests as assigned. 
• Support general building upkeep including painting, minor carpentry, and repairs. 
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms and maintenance areas. 
• Monitor and restock maintenance supplies, parts, and inventory. 
• Assist with contractor and vendor work as directed by Building Engineers. 
• Report equipment issues or abnormal conditions to Engineering staff. 
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
• Participate in emergency response activities as directed. 
• Maintain basic records of completed work and tasks. 
• Support team operations and assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS 
• High school diploma or GED required 

Experience: 
• 0–2 years of facilities, maintenance, or related experience preferred Skills: 
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and general maintenance practices 
• Willingness to learn building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing 
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment 
• Good communication and customer service skills 
• Basic familiarity with mobile devices or work order systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT 
• Ability to lift and work in mechanical spaces 
 • On-call availability required 
• PPE required
