The City of Greensboro's Engineering and Inspections Department - Building Maintenance Division is seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Technician (Structural/Carpentry) to join our team. About the Role

This entry-level position works under the supervision of a Maintenance Mechanic to perform a variety of structural and mechanical maintenance tasks across City facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with repairs, renovations, installations, and preventive maintenance.

You'll work on a wide range of building components, including:

  • Roofs, walls, doors, and windows
  • Stairways, handrails, and locks
  • Bathroom partitions and ceiling tiles
  • Flooring, carpet, and sheetrock
  • Concrete steps, ramps, and masonry
  • Furniture, cabinets, and countertops

This role requires the ability to:

  • Use common carpentry tools (power tools, drills, saws, air nailers, etc.)
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Follow building codes, safety standards, and OSHA guidelines
  • Utilize computers or tablets for work order management

Physical Requirements:

Frequent bending, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
