Job Summary and Qualifications

The Maintenance Technician works under the direction of the HCA Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician I will support the distribution center and operations by performing maintenance and repairs of mechanical conveyors, troubleshooting automated equipment systems, and general maintenance and repairs, to include minor plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, heating and cooling and other building systems. Ideal candidates will be versed in many aspects of Industrial and General maintenance repairs with knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and use of basic hand and power tools.

What will you do in this role: 

  • Working knowledge of repair and maintenance procedures for equipment in a distribution center environment
  • Knowledge of automation and controls systems
  • Knowledge of PLC system software and hardware
  • Working knowledge of electrical single and triple phase power
  • Support replacing roof top air conditioning filters, light bulbs, clogged drains, environmental issues related to storms, assembling furniture, equipment and general electrical repairs and other maintenance
  • Mechanical knowledge of heating and cooling systems, inspections and general repairs
  • Meet all required deadlines related to preventative maintenance and work order service request
  • Assess needs for repair and maintenance of the facility, conveyors and automation components both through surveying and receiving requests from various departments (i.e. administrative, production, facilities, and visitors)
  • Conduct periodic quality checks on facility, conveyor, automation systems and components
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Maintain appearances and functionality of all areas

What qualifications you will need:  

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency, preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • 1-2 years relevant maintenance work experience in a healthcare setting, required
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, required
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker a plus, preferred
  • Certificate in a building trade, building maintenance technology or relevant field, preferred
