Job Summary
Performs entry-level building maintenance and construction work. Responsible for complying with all instructions and policies pertaining to the agencies buildings and grounds. Duties include cleaning and maintenance of assigned facility of Aliviane Inc. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Required Education and Work Experience
- One-year experience in building maintenance and custodial work.

Essential Functions

- Knowledge in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, building renovations, yard work and landscaping.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations as they relate to the position.
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of the safe operation of all tools and understanding of basic practices and procedures of custodial and building maintenance work.
- Skill in driving motorized lawn maintenance equipment; and in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions; to work from drawings, diagrams, or blueprints; and to communicate with others.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk or hear. This position requires the ability to move throughout the building and occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Maintains buildings in clean and orderly condition. Keeps buildings in good repair, performing routine painting, plumbing and other maintenance work.
- Performs routine grounds maintenance such as watering lawns/plants and makes minor adjustments to sprinkler systems. Maintains grounds in neat, orderly condition mow lawn, trim shrubbery and edge sidewalks.
- Picks up paper and other refuse on grounds and sweeps walks and entrances.
- Might help unlock offices in the morning and makes sure that the furnace/heater or air conditioner is on. Might help turn off all lights, air-conditioner, lock doors and set alarm before leaving building.
- Empties all trash and garbage containers, daily.
- Vacuums all the carpets in offices, sweep and mop all appropriate rooms daily.
- Maintains various office and restroom supplies, including towels, soap, tissues and other sanitary items.
- Keeps the storage rooms clean and orderly. Keeps janitor''s room neat and orderly. Returns tools, cleaning equipment, etc., to its proper place.
- Logs out with supervisor before leaving the grounds. Maintains good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism. Punctual at all times. Understands, accepts, implements and promotes Aliviane Inc. Mission Statement, program/department goals, philosophy and objectives;
