Position Summary

The primary purpose of this job includes inspecting and maintaining the general upkeep of buildings and equipment. Performing preventive maintenance on Heinzerling vehicles, and performing minor repairs within the facilities and on grounds. Consults with Maintenance Technician II and Maintenance Supervisors regarding major repairs and safety concerns.

Pay Rates & Available Shifts

$19.25 per hour (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) Monday - Friday, with some on-call responsibilities.

Essential Job Duties

• Clean and inspect equipment after each use
• Practice and follow safety guidelines
• Perform minor troubleshooting and repairs; replace light bulbs, air filters etc.
• Identify and assist with carpentry and repair work
• Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tools including saws, routers, drills, and various hand tools.
• Set up for facility functions
• Pick up parts for equipment if necessary
• Assist with snow removal or mowing as requested
• Fulfills on-call responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Must be able to lift/carry up to 100 pounds regularly
• Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
• Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.
• High School Diploma or GED Preferred
• 3 to 6 months related job experience or training necessary
• Must be able to add, subtract, divide and multiple in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and email.
