Dismantles machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools chain falls jacks cranes or hoists Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of repair needs Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines machine parts or other equipment according to specified procedures Installs replaces or changes machine parts and attachments according to production specifications Records production repair and machine maintenance information Reads maintenance repair work orders and specifications to determine machine and equipment requiring repair or maintenance Sets up and operates machines and adjust controls to regulate operation Collaborates with other workers to repair or move machines machine parts or equipment Maintains equipment files and orders spare-parts inventory on service center equipment and work effectively with operations to implement a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment uptime or reliability May occasionally drive company motor vehicle non-DOT for local pick-up for parts Comply with all safety regulations and procedures Maintain a clean and orderly work area and promote the same throughout the facility Perform highly diverse duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilitys equipment Provide emergencyunscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service Perform basic machinist duties and responsibilities Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Use a variety of hand and power tools electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties Diagnose problems replace or repair parts test and make adjustments Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines equipment and plant facilities as prescribed in the preventativepredictive maintenance plan Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.Metals USA provides equal employment and affirmative action opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race color religion sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin protected veteran status or disability.
