The 3rd shift Maintenance and Electrical Technician plays a key role in supporting daily operations at our ice cream manufacturing facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical skills to ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery used in mixing, freezing, packaging, and storage processes. This position is for 3rd shift.

Job Responsibilities:
\n
\n
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ice cream production equipment (freezers, fillers, conveyors, mixers, refrigeration systems, etc.).
\n
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, control panels, sensors, VFDs, and PLCs.
Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
\n
Respond to urgent maintenance requests to minimize production downtime.
\n
Monitor and maintain refrigeration and temperature control systems in compliance with food safety standards.
\n
Document all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance in maintenance logs.
\n
Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation teams to ensure safe and compliant operations. • Follow GMPs, food safety, and OSHA standards at all times.
\n
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
\n
\n
Qualifications:
\n
\n
4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment (ice cream/dairy experience is a plus).
\n
Strong knowledge of electrical systems including PLCs, control circuits, sensors, and VFDs.
\n
Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems (CARO certification a plus).
\n
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
\n
Experience working in cold environments and with sanitary equipment preferred.
\n
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
\n
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
\n
\n
Physical Requirements:
\n
\n
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
\n
Comfortable working in cold environments (freezers and refrigerated areas).
\n
Ability to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead as needed.
\n
