    Summary:

    Skill level:

    - A is the advanced/skilled trades role — it explicitly requires a 4-year apprenticeship or 8 years of documented field experience, plus basic-to-intermediate PLC experience.

    - C is entry-level, requiring only 1-2 years of verified on-the-job training and a high school diploma/GED.

    Shift: A works 2nd or 3rd shift; C works 1st shift.

Reports to: A reports to the Maintenance Supervisor or Group Leader; C reports to the Maintenance Manager directly.

    Scope of work:

    - A performs advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems — including barrel heats, nozzle heaters, control/hard wiring, bringing utilities online (cooling towers, compressors, dryers, chillers), working inside a scissor lift or articulating boom up to 60 feet, and training other technicians. It also requires working toward Arc Flash technician certification.

    - C is limited to general and preventative maintenance, minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician (light bulbs, fuses), minor carpentry, cleaning/lubricating/greasing equipment, and painting/staining surfaces.

Tools: A must supply their own tools and toolbox (Kasai provides the tool list); this isn't required for C.

Physical demands: A explicitly calls for frequently lifting/moving more than 40 lbs; C's listing doesn't specify a lift requirement.

Benefits: A lists medical, pharmacy, insurance, vision, dental, life, and EAP. C's listing is broader — paid holidays, vacation, life, disability, medical, dental, vision, a wellness program, a drug card, and a matching 401(k).

A is the senior/specialist maintenance track (PLC, electrical systems, height work, mentoring)

C is the junior/generalist entry point into the trade.
