The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all facility maintenance, manufacturing equipment reliability, preventative maintenance programs, and building operations within the manufacturing facility. This hands-on leadership role ensures equipment uptime, facility functionality, safety compliance, and overall operational support across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, facility systems, preventative maintenance practices, and general building operations. This role works closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Operations teams to support efficient manufacturing and maintain a safe, organized, and productive facility.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing and shop equipment to minimize downtime and support production operations.
Establish and manage preventative maintenance (PM) schedules in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements.
Coordinate inspections, servicing, and repairs for all production and facility equipment including:
Quilters
Sewing machines
Glue bridges
CNC equipment
Waterjet systems
Lamination lines
Forklifts
Rotary knives
Chop saws and table saws
Hardening lines
Wrap lines, hoses, and hot melt systems
Air tables and blowers
Dock equipment including dock levelers, dock doors, and truck restraints
Coordinate outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and equipment servicing.
Maintain maintenance records, PM schedules, repair logs, and equipment documentation.
Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supply requirements.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve uptime and operational efficiency.
Facility & Building Maintenance
Oversee general building maintenance and appearance of the facility, both interior and exterior.
Perform or coordinate:
Painting
Small repairs
Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting
General construction and fabrication projects
Assembly of prefabricated or modular items
Ensure outdoor storage areas remain organized and presentable, including management of scrap materials, unusable pallets, and waste areas.
Coordinate lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, and exterior grounds maintenance.
Support facility expansion, equipment relocation, and building improvement projects.
