Maintenance Helper

Job Type: Temporary with the opportunity to become permanent
Location: West Locations of Orange County
Pay: $18/hr

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (½ hour lunch); some overtime may be required

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Maintenance Helper to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to transition into a permanent role with the county for the right candidate. The position involves a variety of preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and mechanical assembly, with an emphasis on industrial mechanical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and mechanical assembly.

• Utilize hand tools and measurement instruments for maintenance and repair tasks.

• Follow blueprints and instructions accurately.

• Assist with assembly, installation, and maintenance of pumps, motor fittings, and other mechanical systems.

• Work in confined spaces, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

• Adhere to safety protocols, including hazardous materials (Hazmat) handling if applicable.

• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Basic mechanical assembly or maintenance experience preferred.

• Ability to work outdoors and handle physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pumps, motor fittings, or handyman work.

• Proficiency in using tools and good measurement skills.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Hazmat experience is a plus.

• A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
