Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Aurora, ILSchedule: 2nd Shift | 11PM-11AMPay: $36-$42 an hour depending on experience

Position SummaryPregis is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systemsTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and drive systemsRespond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situationsPerform equipment inspections and complete scheduled maintenance activitiesRead and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentationMaintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using CMMSSupport production equipment, utility systems, and facility support equipmentCommunicate equipment issues and repair updates with production teams and leadershipAssist with maintenance parts inventory and stock managementFollow OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash, and all company safety proceduresMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentSupport continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment performance and reliability

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GEDStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience working with motors, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine controlsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsKnowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practicesStrong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skillsCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field

Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, electrical controls, and industrial automation systemsExperience with AC/DC drives

Experience using CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stoopingAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 50 poundsAbility to work on feet for extended periodsAbility to safely work around production and maintenance equipment

Work Environment

Indoor manufacturing environment; exposure to moving mechanical equipmentTemperatures may exceed 90°F, even indoorsHumidity levels may exceed 80%, even indoorsNoise levels may exceed 85 dBRequired use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
