NeighborWorks® Boise (NWB) is a local affordable housing nonprofit that
helps Idahoans obtain, maintain, and retain housing. We are seeking a motivated
and mission-driven Maintenance Technician to help maintain safe, clean, and
welcoming properties for our residents at our multifamily housing properties. This is a hands-on role
focused on delivering high-quality repairs, unit turns, and preventative
maintenance to ensure safe and comfortable living environments for our
residents.
Primary Duties
and Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for completing timely and quality maintenance
services across assigned properties. This includes responding to work orders,
performing unit turns, conducting repairs, and supporting preventative
maintenance efforts. The role is responsible for both technical and general
maintenance tasks to ensure properties remain safe, compliant, and
well-maintained.
What You’ll Do
Property Maintenance, Repairs, and Coordination
- Perform general maintenance including
plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and cleaning
- Repair and troubleshoot appliances,
systems, and structural issues
- Respond to routine maintenance requests
and emergency repair needs
- Manage heating, plumbing, and other
building systems to ensure functionality
- Conduct unit turns efficiently, ensuring
units are move-in ready
- Utilize property management software
(AppFolio) to complete work orders and documentation
- Coordinate with vendors for work outside
of technician scope
- Communicate daily with On-Site Manager
and/or Maintenance Assistant Manager regarding property status
Inspections, Compliance, and Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct regular property inspections and
identify safety hazards or needed repairs
- Perform scheduled preventative
maintenance tasks
- Follow up on repairs to ensure
completion and compliance with safety standards
- Assist in semi-annual and periodic unit
inspections with On-Site Manager
- Maintain inventory, supplies, and
maintenance records
- Identify and report property risks,
hazards, or liabilities promptly
- Maintain accurate maintenance records,
inventory, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and
Fair Housing standards

What We’re
Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in maintenance,
construction, plumbing, electrical, or general handyman work required
- Ability to safely use maintenance tools,
equipment, and materials
- Strong organization, time management,
and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards,
ADA, and Fair Housing regulations (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to work independently and manage
multiple priorities and work as part of a team
- Comfortable using tablets, smartphones,
and software (AppFolio, Google Suite)
- Commitment to safety, quality work, and
excellent service

Compensation: Starting at $19-$20.00/ per hour or DOE
