Maintenance Technician

Description:

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, currently has an opportunity for a Maintenance Repair Technician. Are you a mechanic or carpenter looking for a new challenge? Do you like to perform a variety of work in different locations? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Maintenance Department is looking for a new team member and it could be you! Our ideal candidate will possess a strong remodeling aptitude with a customer service focus and be able to work independently and produce high quality work. Having mechanical aptitude is a major plus. We also repair shop equipment including, but not limited to, air guns, hydraulic jacks, tire machines, small engines, and retail and commercial support equipment utilizing best practice standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creating work orders, billing, and maintaining repair log.
• Performing preventative maintenance to air compressors and changing filters on HVAC units
• Repairing sheet rock and minor painting
• Responsible for re-lamping and other related jobs
• Operating power tools and vehicles
• Maintaining a neat and clean work area by disposing of all waste products properly
• Always maintaining good customer relations
• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with power tools, small engines or similar equipment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to use and be comfortable on a 24' extension ladder.
• Basic computer skills are preferred.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Always willing to learn new skills.
• Punctuality a must
• The ability to communicate effectively.
• The ability to drive long distances.
• The ability to stay overnight if the job dictates.
• Strong customer focus in a retail environment.
