Maintenance Technician

We're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving mechanical challenges, and keeping operations running efficiently. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, supporting facility operations, and helping improve reliability across the plant.

What You'll Do

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment

  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities

  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications

  • Identify and address safety concerns related to equipment and work areas

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules

  • Monitor equipment performance and identify ways to reduce downtime

  • Investigate recurring issues and implement long-term solutions

  • Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and workflows

  • Support operational efficiency and waste reduction initiatives

Inventory & Facility Support

  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory and track usage

  • Coordinate ordering of maintenance parts and supplies

  • Perform general facility maintenance and repairs as needed

  • Support production teams with equipment-related issues and workflow improvements

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas


What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Ability to diagnose issues and perform repairs efficiently

  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices

  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and work instructions

  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

  • Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, email, and maintenance tracking systems

  • Willingness to assist across operations as business needs evolve


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in any industry

Preferred

  • Technical training or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Welding, or a related field

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or production environment

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment

  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and maintaining maintenance records

  • Forklift, lift equipment, or other industrial equipment experience

  • Experience in building materials, wood products, manufacturing, or a related industry is a plus

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Work Environment

This role is performed in both office and manufacturing settings and requires regular time on the production floor, yard, and receiving areas. You'll work around machinery, forklifts, and moving materials and may occasionally be exposed to non-temperature-controlled environments.

Physical requirements include:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Occasional stair climbing

  • Regular use of near and far vision, hearing, and verbal communication
