Maintenance Technician

Location: Cambridge, MD

Onsite Flexibility: Onsite

Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract (Temp to Perm)
  • Contract Duration: 3 months
  • Start: June 22, 2026
  • Pay Rate: $21.69 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Shift work that will include nights and weekends

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance related to production and engineering operations. Included is troubleshooting and repair of equipment associated with all gas manifolds and the associated facility equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation and/or modification of chemical processing equipment as well as the repair and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment associated with all chemical processing equipment and other facility equipment
  • Assist in promoting safety and organization in the maintenance department
  • Continuous review and updating of Work Instructions
  • Recommend preventative maintenance intervals based on repair data
  • Responsible for the execution of the Preventive Maintenance Program and the Monitoring and Measuring Devices Program
  • Specialize in Engineering improvement construction projects, ensuring that projects have a well-defined scope and schedule that has been reviewed by all affected parties
  • Recommend spare parts inventory levels
  • Be able to write Purchase Requisitions for needed parts
  • Be able to perform all component rebuilds and calibrations
  • Understand and follow the process flow within chemical processing equipment
  • Understand and perform valid leak checks
  • Follow all work instructions and safety protocols
  • Organize and sort information using available computer software
  • Complete all assigned training
  • Actively participate in ALAM's emergency response (ER) team and ER entry team
  • Must be and remain clean-shaven at all times
  • Ability to wear a full face tight-fitting respirator and a fully encapsulated (Level A) ER suit, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), or any other tight-fitting and/or supplied air respirators (SAR)

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience, preferably in the chemical industry or industry related to fluid systems, Gas (Pressure) system component theory and operation

Required Skills

  • Ability to medically pass a respiratory test and a physical test to wear a full-face respirator as required
  • Able to read and construct from a P&ID or an engineering drawing
  • Basic electronic, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills
  • General Maintenance skills
  • Tube bending and effective communication skills

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
  • Must be and remain clean-shaven at all times
  • Ability to wear a full face tight-fitting respirator and a fully encapsulated (Level A) ER suit, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), or any other tight-fitting and/or supplied air respirators (SAR)
  • Shift work that will include nights and weekends
