    POSITION:                                           Maintenance Technician


    LOCATION:                                          Chatsworth, CA


    SHIFT:                                   Monday - Thursday (05:30am-04:00pm)


     


     


    Position Summary


    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This position performs skilled work involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facility systems while supporting production and maintaining compliance with company safety standards.


    The Maintenance Technician is a self-sufficient, solutions-oriented professional capable of troubleshooting equipment failures, completing repairs, documenting work performed, and responding to maintenance requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position also supports continuous improvement initiatives, facility projects, and preventive maintenance programs while helping maintain a safe, clean, and operational facility.



    Essential Duties and Responsibilities



    • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.

    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, and building-related systems.

    • Inspect buildings, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns.

    • Respond to equipment breakdowns and facility emergencies in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.

    • Perform repairs involving carpentry, painting, plumbing, lighting, doors, flooring, and general building maintenance.

    • Assist with machine installations, equipment relocations, and facility improvement projects.

    • Maintain production equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and internal preventive maintenance schedules.

    • Perform routine inspections and quality checks to verify equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

    • Identify and correct unsafe conditions and assist in maintaining OSHA compliance throughout the facility.

    • Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage within the maintenance management system.

    • Assist in developing, improving, and executing preventive maintenance procedures.

    • Coordinate with production personnel to schedule repairs and minimize operational interruptions.

    • Assist with office moves, facility modifications, and special projects as assigned.

    • Support housekeeping and organization of maintenance shops, storage areas, and workspaces.

    • Assist with structural pest control measures and facility upkeep as needed.

    • Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, forklifts, scissor lifts, ladders, and other maintenance equipment safely.

    • Follow all company safety policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, hazardous material handling requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.

    • Provide guidance and training to less experienced maintenance personnel as assigned.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications



    • High School Diploma or GED required.

    • Minimum five (5) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

    • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and facility systems.

    • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.

    • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

    • Ability to document maintenance work using work orders or ticketing system.


    Preferred Qualifications



    • Experience maintaining manufacturing or aerospace production equipment.

    • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and facility utility systems.

    • Forklift and scissor lift operating experience.

    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, and general industrial safety practices.

    • Knowledge of California building codes and maintenance best practices.

    • Experience assisting with facility improvement or capital projects.


    Physical Requirements



    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.

    • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces.

    • Ability to work at varying heights using ladders, lifts, or scaffolding.

    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

    • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations, including overtime or weekend work when operationally required.


    Work Environment


    This position is performed primarily onsite in a manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician routinely works around production equipment, moving machinery, electrical systems, compressed air systems, chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).


     


    SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES


    Language Skills:
    Ability to read, understand, and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documentation. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required.
