Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Classification: Non-Exempt

Within an automated laundry, the Maintenance Technician performs preventative and specialized maintenance of the facility and its equipment and ensures maintenance compliance to applicable regulations and maintenance policies.

You will collaborate with other plant personnel to improve performance of the equipment within the plant operation. The Maintenance Technician's performance will measure success within this role. This performance must ensure safe and cost-effective operation of the facility and its equipment. Additionally, it must ensure operation of Alsco's wastewater systems and power plant equipment. The ability to work as a team and with is also critical.

You Will:

  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Production Management team, and other key operational partners to support facility operations.
  • Use a computerized Preventive Maintenance (PM) program daily to document repairs, complete maintenance activities, and respond promptly to equipment failures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with an emphasis on automation and control systems.
  • Maintain compliance with operational, safety, and environmental requirements by completing safety training, recording and retaining required documentation, supporting wastewater compliance, and maintaining computerized maintenance records.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and infrastructure to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.

What You Bring:

  • High school or equivalent; additional training in the following area(s) preferred (plumbing, electrical, steam, controls, PLC, welding, and mechanical systems)
  • Work Experience Requirements:   2+ years industrial maintenance.
  • Specific Skills and Competencies: Electric schematics, low voltage troubleshooting, controls, steam/boiler operation, hydraulics, pneumatics, safety compliance (e.g. LOTO, hot work, confined space) wastewater treatment.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Licenses: Boiler operator license (some states), wastewater certification (some states), computerized preventative maintenance systems.
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record free of chargeable accidents, speeding or other safety violations.

Work Environment and Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and working in confined spaces.
  • Reaching overhead and working at heights using ladders or lifts (15 feet or more)
  • Lift and carry up to 100 lbs. and pushing or pulling carts up to 500 lbs.
  • Operating forklifts and other industrial equipment. Reading, writing, speaking, and hearing.
  • Work performed in an industrial laundry facility, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to large machinery, moving equipment, noise, heat, humidity, lint, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • May involve use of respirators, operation of industrial equipment, and entry into confined spaces following safety procedures.
  • Occasional local travel for parts procurement or training.
