Job Overview

Maintenance technician, 1st shift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. 
  • Dismantle and repair machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. 
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions. 
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. 
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, or machinery
  • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. 
  • Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs, online stores, and suppliers. 
  • Plan repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. 
  • Clean work areas and perform general cleaning of buildings or properties. 
  • Fabricate, paint or repair counters, benches, partitions, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures. 
  • Align and balance new equipment after installation. 
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments. 
  • Cutting, grinding, brazing and fabrication activities.
  • Assist in developing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Develop equipment or component configurations. 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance activities.
  • Experience with maintenance of CNC machinery is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Experience with corrective and preventive maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical School Degree and/or Military Training a plus

  • Installation — Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
