Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment minimizing downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and or other issues as needed.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements per company or manufacturing guidelines to ensure all equipment is in good working conditions.
- Operate any machine or machine tool in the machine shop and complete any job on these machines as required.
- Examine machinery and equipment for defects in operation and remove, repair, and replace defective parts.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other teams to complete assigned tasks and projects.
- Using micrometers, make fits on and replace bearings, as well as other machine parts, to specified tolerances.
- Make minor electrical repairs when the electrician is not available.
- Order parts and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance program.
- May be asked to train others if needed.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow all company policies and procedures and bring to the attention of the supervisor any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on forklifts. Drive forklift as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
2 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician or similar position
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Proficient in English, both written and verbal - Able to work second shift and weekends
- Familiarity with schematics, preferred
Must have a valid driver's license - Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Willingness to learn new technologies and systems
