For more than 126 years, Epworth has grown and adapted to the individual needs of children and families by providing a safe and nurturing environment, evidence-based practices, and programs across the continuum of care and across the state of South Carolina.Summary:Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on Epworth buildings, grounds, mechanical equipment, and utility systemsJOB SUMMARY: •The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration • Retrieve work orders and document completion • Document safety and security problems, reporting to the Director of Buildings and Grounds • Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures • Perform outside custodial duties such as lawn care, snow removal etc. as required • May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed. • Rotate on call schedule responding to calls within a 30-minute time period • Follow direction and guidance of immediate supervisor • Participate as appropriate in the PQI process as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:• Must be able to pass standard background checks, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry • Knowledge of simple electrical systems • Knowledge of basic plumbing • Ability to determine and prioritize task • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience • Good skill in the use of hand and power tools • Valid South Carolina Driver's LicenseREQUIRED SKILLS: Valid SC Driver's License with a clean driving record. Ability to frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation of after-hours and weekends. Must be able to pass standard background checks, including drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry, FBI, and Sex Offenders Registry.
