Maintenance Technician - Class A Apartment Community

Location: Columbus, OH

Pay: $24-$26 per hour

Position Type: Full-time, onsite

We are seeking a dependable, service-focused Maintenance Technician to join the onsite team at a Class A apartment community in Columbus, OH.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will handle resident service requests, apartment turns, preventive maintenance, property upkeep, and general repairs throughout the community. The ideal candidate is hands-on, responsive, professional with residents, and committed to completing quality work safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete and document resident service requests accurately and within established response times.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and general maintenance issues.
• Complete apartment turns, including drywall repair, touch-up painting, lock changes, flooring repairs, and light carpentry.
• Conduct move-in and move-out inspections to document unit conditions and identify required repairs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, building assets, and apartment infrastructure.
• Maintain interior and exterior common areas, building grounds, and overall curb appeal.
• Assist with light janitorial duties and general property upkeep.
• Prepare the community for seasonal conditions, including proactive snow and ice removal.
• Respond to urgent after-hours maintenance issues as part of the rotating on-call schedule.
• Communicate professionally with residents, coworkers, vendors, and property management.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, OSHA standards, and SDS guidelines when operating tools or handling chemicals.

Qualifications

• One to two years of apartment, multifamily, residential, or property maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Experience with drywall, painting, flooring, appliance repair, and light carpentry.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, dependable, and customer-service focused.
• Able to prioritize service requests and work effectively in a fast-paced residential environment.
• Comfortable participating in an on-call rotation and assisting with snow and ice removal.
• Able to work onsite in Columbus, OH.
