Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: East Granby, CT (100% Onsite) Duration: 12 Months Contract Pay range: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour on W2
Responsibilities:
You will perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, helping ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including extrusion lines, payoffs, take-ups, ovens, ink jet printers, braiders, hoppers, and pumps
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues to minimize downtime
Calibrate critical equipment and measuring devices to maintain accuracy
Conduct facility safety checks and inspections
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records
Coordinate with external service providers when needed
Follow established maintenance procedures and recommend updates for improvement
Design and build basic fixtures to support production needs
Communicate clearly with managers, supervisors, and team members
Partner with engineering on machine upgrades and new equipment installations
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E)
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area
Prioritize and manage time effectively to complete critical tasks
Must Have:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in plant or industrial maintenance
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Hands-on experience repairing mechanical and electrical equipment
Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, crouching, twisting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical or vocational degree
Forklift operating experience
Familiarity with 5S or Lean Manufacturing principles
