Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Forest Lake, MN
Compensation: $30 - $40 per hour (DOE)
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills to support daily operations in a production environment. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, while also performing general mechanical maintenance to keep the facility running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, controls, relays, sensors, wiring, and basic PLC related issues.
- Perform mechanical maintenance on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and other plant equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and document all work performed.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, manuals, and work orders.
- Identify root cause issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures including proper lockout and tagout practices.
- Work with production personnel to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to diagnose and repair AC and DC electrical systems and control circuits.
- Understanding of basic PLC related issues and repair
- Experience repairing and maintaining mechanical components including motors, pumps, bearings, and drive systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS tools.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications are a plus.
